6-hour retainer
This retainer is ideal for a business that just needs a little help with parts of their digital marketing that continually get sidelined, whether that’s getting a monthly blog/newsletter out or having some static posts added to their social media platforms.
12-hour retainer
This is the most popular retainer. 12 hours is enough time to launch 2 blogs and newsletters, plus some basic social media content. It can be used for a full posting schedule on multiple social media platforms if blogging isn’t your thing, including a mix of content and video.
20-hour retainer
Ideal for clients who are looking for daily social media posting, video editing, blogging and newsletters, with hours left over for larger projects. Also ideal for clients with multiple businesses.
Currently unavailable.
What’s involved?
While I do offer stand-alone strategies, most of my clients are monthly retainers where we work together to create blog, newsletter and social media content to promote their business online.
Here are a few common questions that come up.
-
The main difference between content management and social media management is:
Content management involves looking at your audience, figuring out the content that will resonate with them, and developing a strategy on how to use your online presence to answer their questions and position you as the authority.
This could involve blogs, newsletters, articles, guest posts, etc - and also involves taking one piece of content and making it work across a multitude of platforms.
Content strategy is about maximizing your time - you create content once, edit it and distribute it across the internet to serve your business.
Social media management is creating content for 1-3 social media platforms. In my case, I do all the content writing and graphics as I have a background in content management.
My retainer prices are the same for both, but more content means you'll need more hours in your package.

I work with my retainer clients anywhere from 6 to 20 hours per month, depending on how much content they want created, what platforms we're using and whether they want graphics, plus video, plus content writing/editing (or if they're doing a lot of the work themselves.)
Due to my skillset, working with me starts at an hourly rate of $85/hour ($125 per hour outside of a retainer) - so larger retainers get a higher discounted rate.
My 6 hour retainer is $500 per month and my 12 hour retainer is $1000 per month.
An example 6 hour retainer: A single newsletter and blog post drafted, edited and published with all associated graphics required, plus 2 static single image/graphic posts per week to a maximum of 12 posts with templated graphics/provided images, captions drafted and scheduling for 2 meta platforms, minimal to no edits required. If the client decided they wanted a landing page for an upcoming event created with additional graphics associated, they could expect their retainer the following month to include billing for additional hours. All of this would be discussed beforehand.
Clear communication and processes are key to keeping hours used to within your budget. I always let my retainer clients know if a request will cause an overage in hours.
