Hello sweetie website

Hello Sweetie Paper & Co.    |    Web Design, Shopify

The Challenge:

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you probably already know about my second business—Hello Sweetie Design. While illustration can capture the attention of your audience and help you stand out online, it’s no secret that having custom illustrations created for your brand can be expensive. So Hello Sweetie was created to provide me with an outlet for my creativity.

I placed the business on hiatus during the pandemic out of respect for my fellow local card makers—afterall, I was freelancing full time and didn’t need the income to feed my family. So while I was taking some down time and only supplying my existing clients, I decided to overhaul my website and make the move to Shopify.

The Solution:

Shopify is an incredible platform for those who are looking to have an all-in-one solution for their product based business. It tracks inventory, incoming product, pulls reports around your inventory and takes care of shipping estimates for you as well. I wanted to use it as a place to keep track of my inventory that would also sync with my Faire Storefront.

While the website uses a basic free theme, I used a lot of custom illustration to make it shine. The main purpose of the website is for customers to be able to find things easily, so I created a navigation specific to how I know clients shop in my retail stores.

Spending so much time getting to know Shopify has allowed me to take on many web projects on this platform since, but this one is still my favourite. (I might be a little biased though.)
